The reason we went to Cairo was the NESA Teachers Conference. Most international schools are a part of a regional network of other schools in the area. Near East Schools’ Association. Each year they hold a teachers conference. I tried out for this conference back in October and found out in December that I had been selected. This made my trip free as my school sponsored me!

Probably the best part about the conference–aside from a trip to Cairo with my family–was meeting up with my librarian mentor, Doug Johnson. He’s such a neat guy and a superb role model. I’m really looking forward to working with him in May when we visit the International School of Bangkok.
